WOOD BLOCK PRINTS by STEVE CHAPPELL
Steve Chappell lives in Madison, Wisconsin. His interest in printmaking began in the early 1980s while studying at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His compositions are often inspired by places he has visited, or, occurrences he has witnessed, or, at other times, by arbitrary objects lying about. He likes to call his print exhibitions “Pictures of the Floating World,” recalling somewhat loosely the Ukiyo-e block prints of old Japan. His prints and books can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Malaysia.
