9 colors! During the summer of 2005 hurricane Katrina pounded the southern United States and left many victims in its wake. Those who suffered worst were the poor. Many people lost their homes and belongings. Their lives are changed forever. Many people died. The French Quarter: it survived. There are some things even a hurricane can’t blow away. The French Quarter, that’s one of them.
An edition of 20. The colors used were orange, red, light brown, dark brown, light blue, dark blue, light grey, dark grey, and Intense black. Always black. Three blocks were used to make this print. The boards were 3/4 inch pine planks. Two methods were used to make this print: jigsawing and overprinting. The paper is Arches, a mouldmade paper from France.
